The strategic goal of the Dilijan Educational Cluster is to create an educational environment of the future in Armenia.
On April 3, 2017, the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Initiatives for Development of Armenia (IDeA) Foundation signed a memorandum of cooperation on establishing the Dilijan Educational Cluster.
The Minister of Education and Science Levon Mkrtchyan and the Chief Executive Officer of the IDeA Foundation Edgar Manukyan signed the Memorandum on behalf of the Government of Armenia and the IDeA Foundation, respectively.
Considering the need to improve the level and quality of education and to introduce the best international innovative practices to the public education system of Armenia, the Government of Armenia is considering the possibility of establishing the Educational Cluster in Dilijan as part of a pilot program with the involvement of the private sector.
The strategic goal of the Dilijan Educational Cluster is to create an educational environment of the future in Armenia based on the achievements of the world’s most progressive education systems.
According to the Memorandum, the Ministry of Education and Science and the Center for Strategic Initiatives, acting on behalf of the Government of Armenia, will collaborate with the IDeA Foundation to develop the concept of the cluster, to define the relationships between the stakeholders, and to develop the educational content of the cluster and its participants.
The Dilijan Educational Cluster will become an open educational ecosystem that can involve new participants including public education institutions. In the future, the project may be replicated in other regions of Armenia.
